How the Aprilaire 600 works

The Aprilaire 600 humidifier sends air via your supply air trunk or plenum, which is then passed through the humidifier where a vertical water panel has water flowing down it. From the humidifier the air is blown back to your cold air return trunk or return drop. When the Aprilaire 600 humidifier senses the need of humidity, it uses the hot air from your supply air to evaporate the water dripping from the water panel and puts the resulting moisture into your home. The drain attached to the bottom of the Aprilaire 600 humidifier flushes the excess water, minerals and solid residue out of the system. With this draining feature, Aprilaire 600 humidifiers introduce much healthier air into your house and they also require much less maintenance.

Installation and maintenance

You can easily install your Aprilaire 600 humidifier either on the supply or return plenum of any forced air furnace. Aprilaire 600 humidifiers are flexible to be installed with right or left hand bypass pipe connections. The Aprilaire 600 humidifier can also be installed in manual mode if needed. Water panels for the Aprilaire 600 humidifier will need to be replaced 1-2 times annually whereas the water distribution tray will need to be replaced every 5 years, the orifice and strainer every 3-5 years, and the saddle valve will need to be replaced every 5 years.
