The Aprilaire 1710A has an internal humidistat which will automatically sense moisture levels to maintain optimal humidity levels and reduce and control dampness, mildew, mold, fungi, dust mites and odors. Excess humidity in the air can cause basements to be smelly, musty and noticeably damp. Excess humidity can damage basement furniture and furnishings, cause wood to swell and fabric to rot.
